Biography

Eric L. Vogel is an instructor in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Ecampus online-only program. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. Eric spent 43 years in the tech industry developing new consumer electronics products, initially as a software engineer but ultimately spending most of his career as a project manager for both hardware and software products. He led the design, development, manufacturing, and launch of calculators, data collectors, smartphones, notebook computers, electrical test equipment, fingerprint scanners, and speakers and headphones for computers, smartphones, and TVs. He trained, mentored, and coached dozens of project managers around the world, set up engineering design centers in the U.S., China, and Malaysia, and led project management offices that provide structure and business governance for the development of new products.
