First-Year Engineering Advising

Students attending OSU after high school without having attended another college or university will be advised centrally in their first year as General Engineering students.   The emphasis within the first year is on exploration, transition to college, finding community, and major selection.

Undergraduate Advising Process

Your undergraduate advisor is an integral part of your academic planning and a facilitator to your College of Engineering Experience. If you are a student transferring to our college or are a current student in your 2nd year or above, you will work directly with an advisor in the specific school where your major is located.

Students are encouraged to use the course guides for your engineering courses. Consult your academic advisor if you are unsure of the best plan for your situation. Undergraduate engineering courses are designed as four year degree programs but varies on each students situation.
