Corvallis and Bend: The Pacific
Northwest's coolest college towns

Earning a college degree will change your life, no question. Doing it in places built for adventure? Even better.

Corvallis has everything you want in a college town: free public transit, great restaurants and shops, bike and pedestrian-friendly streets, and a gorgeous historic campus. It's an hour to the ocean, 90 minutes to the city of Portland, and a quick walk to some of the nicest forests for hiking. Browse the riverfront farmer's market on weekends, catch a show at the Majestic Theater, or take your mountain bike out to the trails.

Amp up the outdoor adventure at the OSU-Cascades campus in Bend, with close proximity to hiking trails, huge mountains and a river waiting for you to fish and float.

Connect with a
welcoming community

At the College of Engineering, we empower students to be who they want to be while they learn to become outstanding engineers. It’s easy to make that claim, but here, we turn the words into action.

Engineering-specific residence halls

Live in an engineering-specific residence hall on campus where you have access to a makerspace and engineering specific activities. Here you can find support and build friendships with other engineering students.

Tons of student organizations

Work together on a common goal with friends across campus in over 400 student organizations. You can find a community with groups that support a diverse spectrum of identities and backgrounds, connect with companies through student chapters of professional societies, and hone engineering skills through student competitions that tackle real-world challenges.

Join Student Council

Contribute to the culture of the College of Engineering through the Engineering Student Council. The group organizes events, supports student clubs, and works with the College of Engineering administration to make sure that student concerns are heard.

Paying for your education

We are committed to making higher education accessible by offering
a range of scholarships, grants, and comprehensive financial aid
options to support students in their academic journey.

How much is tuition?

Annual Tuition & Fees: $16,014* for a typical full-time course load.** Most students receive financial aid or scholarships, so your actual cost could be much lower.

*Based on current in-state tuition rates. See additional costs for housing, course materials, and more

**15 credits per term across Fall, Winter, and Spring

Do you offer scholarships?

In addition to Oregon State University scholarships, the College of Engineering offers over 300 scholarships to students each year. About one out of eleven students receive scholarships from the college, with the average award being about $3,000, with a few as large as $20,000.

Once you apply to Oregon State, we’ll automatically provide you with a list of annual scholarships you are eligible to apply for. Additionally, we’ll give you access to a vetted database to search from so you can discover over 10,000 external scholarships outside of Oregon State that you may be eligible for to help pay for your degree.

Are there other financial aid opportunities?

Navigating financial aid requirements and due dates can be challenging. That’s why we created a dedicated resource with up-to-date information on FAFSA deadlines, financial aid requirements, federal changes, and more.

Is Oregon State in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)?

Oregon State University is a participating institution with the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program.

Through WUE, eligible students can attend an undergraduate program outside their home state and pay no more than 150 percent of that institution’s resident tuition rate.
