Civil engineering involves the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of essential public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, buildings, water supply systems, and more. 

As a student, our internationally recognized faculty will help you build the solid foundation of skills to succeed. You'll also explore other areas that interest you the most, including architectural engineering, coastal and ocean engineering, construction engineering, geomatics, structural engineering, transportation engineering, and others.

Career Opportunities

Employment of civil engineers is projected to grow 6% from 2023 to 2033 (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). Here are a few examples of projects you might work on:

  • Plan and design infrastructure projects like roads, railways, bridges, and airports.
  • Conduct soil and rock analysis for foundation design and excavation planning.
  • Work on coastal protection, harbor infrastructure, and beach erosion prevention.
  • Design earthquake-resistant structures and assess seismic vulnerability.
  • Participate in urban development for livable, sustainable, and healthy communities.
