COE Undergraduate Scholarships
Investing in your future starts with exploring scholarship opportunities that can help fund your engineering education. Most College of Engineering scholarships are available through OSU ScholarDollars, where one application can connect you with a variety of awards for which you may be eligible.

College of Engineering Scholarships
In addition to Oregon State University financial aid and scholarship programs, the College of Engineering awards hundreds of scholarships to support undergraduate students in the college’s degree programs.

Annual Scholarships
COE’s annual scholarships are awarded for one academic year at a time, and there are 300+ annual scholarships available. One application allows students to be considered for any and all scholarships in the college they qualify for, and awards are typically $1,000-$3,000.
Annual scholarship recipients are selected from the annual scholarship application process. All students are evaluated holistically.
Students are encouraged to apply each year via the COE Scholarship Application in ScholarDollars. One application allows students to be considered for any and all scholarships in the college they qualify for.

Recruitment Scholarships
The College of Engineering awards highly competitive, merit and need based scholarships to incoming students. The awards are based on a holistic review of admitted student application materials, and are eligible for renewal up to three additional years. By submitting the application for admission to OSU, incoming freshmen are automatically considered for these scholarships.
When you receive a recruitment scholarship, it is sometimes called a Student Success Initiative (SSI) scholarship. Each year a placeholder titled “COE SSI Scholarship” is added to your financial aid award offer. At the time of payment, this placeholder is “cancelled” and replaced by a scholarship account, which is funded by one of our College of Engineering donors, in the same dollar amount.

Degree Completion Scholarships
Get across the finish line! COE’s completion scholarships are available to students within three terms of degree completion. Awards typically range from $500 to $1,000, depending on available funding.
Students must be pursuing a degree in the College of Engineering, in good academic standing and within 3 terms from completing their degree, yet at risk of not completing their degree for financial reasons.
Open on a Term-by-term Basis: The application for the COE Undergraduate Completion Scholarship is available each term unless funds have been fully allocated.
If the application is closed during a term due to lack of funding availability, it may reopen in subsequent terms.
Students may reapply multiple terms. However, priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received completion funding.
Completion scholarships will be applied directly to the recipient’s student tuition account. This funding offsets tuition costs, allowing students to allocate personal resources toward immediate needs outside of tuition and fees.

Emergency Funding
The College of Engineering provides limited financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students facing emergency situations. This emergency funding is intended to support students during crises that significantly impact their personal well-being or academic progress. Emergency scholarships typically range from $200 to $1,000, depending on available funding.
To qualify, a student must be enrolled in a degree program within the College of Engineering and maintain good academic standing as defined by the college's policies. Due to limited resources and high demand, not all requests can be funded.
Open on a Term-by-term Basis. The application for the COE Undergraduate Emergency Scholarship is available via ScholarDollars each term unless funds have been fully allocated.

Catalyst Scholarship
The Catalyst Scholars Program is a highly-selective cohort-style program that provides coordinated academic and social support complemented by invaluable financial assistance. Catalyst Scholars are selected upon admission to Oregon State, and receive $8,000 per year in tuition assistance and $2,000 per year to go toward experiential learning opportunities.
By submitting the application for admission to OSU, incoming freshmen are automatically considered for the Catalyst scholarship.

Construction Industry Empowerment Scholarship
The CIE Scholarship Program was launched by the School of Civil and Construction Engineering, industry leaders and corporate partners. It is intended to aid students by coupling financial support with peer-to-peer guidance through the college experience.
A list of all eligible students are reviewed by a committee each year in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering–no application is necessary. Eligible students may be contacted to interview with the committee as part of the selection process.

COE Ecampus Scholarships
There are scholarships specifically created to support COE Ecampus students, and we encourage you to apply every term, even if you were awarded the previous term. Awards vary from $500 — $1000 per term. To increase your chances of receiving an award, be sure to complete the FAFSA/ORSAA.
To apply for this scholarship, log into ScholarDollars, and search for "Ecampus Engineering Scholarships."
Varies by term. Check the “Applications” section in ScholarDollars each term. The application typically opens about 7 weeks before the start of the term.

OSU and External Scholarships
In OSU ScholarDollars, each student in the College of Engineering will see a personalized list of university and external scholarships for which they appear to meet the basic eligibility criteria.
For the external scholarships, they will find links to websites where they can learn more about each opportunity.
Frequently Asked Questions
All COE Scholarship Applications are held in the ScholarDollars system.
Navigate to the ScholarDollars login page, log in using your ONID user name & password, and click on the “Application” icon on the left side of the page. When you reach the applications page, you will see a list of applications that you are eligible to fill out.
No, you do not need to complete the FAFSA to be considered for College of Engineering Scholarships, however there are a few individual, need-based scholarships that require it. Completing the FAFSA could increase your chances of being considered for all possible scholarships.
Your College of Engineering (COE) Scholarship Application will undergo a thorough review by dedicated faculty and staff members within your school. These COE reviewers bring a wealth of expertise and experience to this process, ensuring that each application is thoughtfully and comprehensively assessed.
If you are not going to meet the requirements of your scholarship, you can use the COE Scholarship Appeal Form. Once you fill out the form, the COE Scholarship Appeal Review Committee will consider your circumstances and, in some cases, make an exception. Please note that not all appeals will be granted an exception.
If you will be participating in MECOP or CECOP, the COE Scholarships Office can help provide some options for adjusting your scholarship while you are on internship. You can use the COE Scholarship Appeal Form for this purpose.
