Biography

Dr. Sukhija’s research focuses on the rheological characterization of asphalt binders, pavement evaluation and preservation, and the design of sustainable transportation infrastructure. His primary objective is to develop strategies that enhance pavement durability and longevity while remaining cost-effective. Over the years, Dr. Sukhija has contributed to numerous research and consultancy projects, including studies on warm mix asphalt, reclaimed asphalt pavement, binder-aggregate bonding characteristics, nanomodification of asphalt binders, and pervious concrete technologies.

He also actively contributes to the academic and professional community. Dr. Sukhija serves as an editor and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals in transportation engineering. He is a member of key professional organizations, including the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), Transportation Research Board (TRB), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Academy of Pavement Science and Engineering (APSE), and RILEM.
