About

Biography

I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering with a option Aerospace while serving as a National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) senator to create a better community which helps engineering students. I enjoy being active doing many activities like soccer, basketball, and going to the gym, trying to always do something active throughout my day. I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking and discovering new natural areas whenever I have free time. I also love to meet new people and learn about different viewpoints while I develop connections with others. I want to develop my engineering skills through work on projects that create real-world effects while I pursue personal and professional development.

I currently work in the Prototype Development Lab at Oregon State University, where I’m helping calibrate and test a product for a private client. My main responsibilities include handling force measurement systems and carrying out tests, while I ensuring our data remains correct through proper calibration procedures. Our team conducts durability testing to assess product performance during multiple impact tests combined with long-term stress evaluation.

This work with precise data collection and analysis methods has taught me valuable engineering skills. The testing environment requires me to fix equipment problems while I develop better testing procedures which will lead to more accurate test results. My work in this role shows me how engineers use their knowledge to solve real problems together with their colleagues on projects.

I found the first-year engineering page of canvas to be very helpful, as almost every question I had, the answer was on that page.
