Keean Balsiger

Hi I’m Keean! I am a senior in Architectural Engineering with a minor in viola performance. Originally from the Portland area, I hope to go into lighting design when I graduate. Humans spend more time indoors than ever, and the indoor lighting environment plays a key role in supporting our mood, focus, and even long-term health. I currently work in the lighting lab on campus, conducting my own research on this very topic!

Outside of class, I love to play music with people. I currently play in a string quartet, the OSU symphony, and a band with my roommates. I also love to cook, hike, and play intramural sports. I know that I am someone who enjoys a busy schedule, so having a full day that is not all engineering is perfect for me!

For summer 2026, I will be living in Seattle working as a lighting design intern with Stantec. When I graduate, I might get my master's degree in architecture... we’ll see!
