Biography

Ed Rissberger started at Oregon State in the Spring of 2022 after spending 38 years in industry working in Product Development for technology companies. During the last 20 years he worked in small to medium sized VC funded startups and early-stage companies with responsibility for all engineering and usually manufacturing operations.

Ed is passionate about helping young engineers get a good start to their careers. He tries to integrate design elements and industry methodology into his courses to the greatest extent possible. He is thrilled to be teaching at OSU and his favorite part of each course is talking directly to students to help them understand the material. Sometimes these conversations extend beyond the classroom into “what engineers really do once they leave school and what the student needs to know to be successful”.

Ed lives in Lake Oswego and when not teaching can be found on the rivers and lakes of the Northwest fly fishing.
