Biography

Assistant and Associate Professor, Materials Science and Engineering, Iowa State University, 1997–2005. Dr. Cann is affiliated with the interdisciplinary Materials Science Graduate Program at Oregon State. At Oregon State since 2005.

Research Interests
The electronic properties of ceramics, including dielectric properties, piezoelectricity, defect chemistry, crystal chemistry, non-stoichiometry, synthesis methods, and solid-state phase transformations. Applications include capacitors, energy storage, piezoelectric sensors and transducers, transparent conductors, chemical sensors, and interfacial phenomena.
