About

Biography

Hi I’m Caleb! I am a 4th year Industrial Engineering student with a minor in Spanish, and I’m originally from Enumclaw, WA.

I currently work in the Sustainable, Healthy, and Resilient Buildings Lab on campus as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. In this lab, we focus on indoor air quality testing and applications, specifically on the health impacts and mitigation of wildfire smoke pollution.

On campus, I’m also involved in several clubs. I am the Training and Education Chair for the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers where I develop education resources for club members and Oregon State students. I am also a member of the ASHRAE club, Ethical Engineering Debate Club, and SNO.S.U Ski and Snowboard Club.

Summer 2026 I am embarking on a study abroad trip to Valparaíso, Chile. I am super excited for this opportunity, and I plan on taking classes on Chilean culture and the arts while exploring the beautiful coastal city.

During Summer 2025, I completed an internship with Georgia-Pacific as a Contractor Manager. This was an awesome opportunity that allowed me to gain hands-on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment while developing my leadership, communication, and project management skills.

After graduation, I am interested in going into a career in the aerospace industry; my dream is to be involved in space exploration and innovation. I am also interested in graduate school at some point in my future.

Outside of the classroom, I love to get outside and experience nature whether it is snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, or camping. I also like to play video games and watch movies, specifically horror ones! One recommendation that I have for incoming students is to prioritize doing things outside of the classroom that you enjoy that help you distress such as IM sports or hobbies.

I would suggest creating a LinkedIn, Handshake, and GitHub profile to build connections and a portfolio. I found these all very helpful for job opportunities and organizing your skills, experiences and projects.
