
Jon DeVaan earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science in 1985. As senior vice president of the TV Division at Microsoft, DeVaan is the leader behind the company's worldwide initiative to provide interactive TV software solutions and services to network operators, consumer electronics manufacturers, and consumers. Previously, DeVaan led Microsoft's Desktop Applications Division, growing the business to $7 billion in annual revenues. He was responsible for the Microsoft Office(r) family of applications and led the initial design of Microsoft Office 2000.
DeVaan is a member of the Microsoft Business Leadership Team with Chairman Bill Gates and CEO Steve Ballmer. DeVaan's extensive experience and knowledge have established him as a respected leader and speaker in the technology and interactive TV industries. He served as a panelist with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the 2000 United Nations' World Television Forum to discuss the convergence of TV, digital technology, and the Internet.
