Environmental engineers protect our environment, creating solutions to minimize human impact on the natural world. In our undergraduate program, you’ll prepare for a rewarding career, learning from faculty whose expertise includes emerging contaminant remediation, CO2 sequestration, alternative energy, sustainable water, stormwater and wastewater treatment, environmental health, and environmental impacts of nanoparticles, microplastics, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Career Opportunities
Employment of environmental engineers is projected to grow 7% from 2023 to 2033 (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). Here are a few examples of projects you might work on:
- Design facilities for pollutant removal from drinking water, stormwater and wastewater.
- Mitigate climate change through emission reduction and contaminant capture technologies.
- Recover energy, water, nutrients, metals and other valuable products from waste streams.
- Mitigate environmental impacts of infrastructure projects and new emerging contaminants.
