Radiation Detection and Measurement centers on developing innovative radiation detection technologies and their applications across nuclear energy, security, safeguards, and forensics. This work includes advancing radiation detection through real-time digital pulse-processing techniques and radiation transport models to improve detection accuracy and reliability.

This also includes the study of active interrogation techniques, and the development of laser technologies specifically designed for homeland security applications. These technologies play a critical role in improving the detection of illicit materials and threats, ensuring better protection and security. The combined efforts in detector design, digital signal processing, and cutting-edge approaches ensures continued innovation in radiation detection and measurement.
