Zane Ma is an assistant professor in the School of EECS. He has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Illinois and a B.A. in chemistry from Princeton University. Prior to joining Oregon State in 2023, he was a research scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology working on network security for web servers and 5G technologies. Ma’s research interests are in applied network security, with a focus on web authentication, naming, and emerging internet technologies (e.g., 5G, blockchain, IoT). As part of his research, Ma has worked with major browser vendors (e.g., Firefox, Chrome) to improve the security of the web.
