About
Biography
Dr. Natasha Lavelle is a licensed professional engineer specializing in engineering education, with a focus on curricular design, inclusive teamwork, and social justice in engineering. Before transitioning into academia, she spent more than six years working as a design, process, and research engineer in nuclear energy, renewable technologies, and manufacturing industries.
She now serves as Director of Engineering+, the College of Engineering’s signature program for new students. Engineering+ brings together foundational engineering courses, hands‑on learning, co‑curricular experiences, and career development to help every incoming student build confidence and community from day one.
Her contributions to teaching and student success have been recognized with the 2024 OSU College of Engineering Faculty Teaching Excellence Award and the 2020 OSU Breaking Barriers in Education Award, honoring her impact in mentoring and advancing gender equity in higher education.
