Biography

Lucas Ellis’s research group focuses on design and synthesis of novel catalysts and sorbents in applications that further our environmental sustainability. Our main experimental approaches include reactor studies (e.g. performance testing, kinetics, etc.), temperature programmed studies, infrared spectroscopy, and more, allowing our group to study real-world catalysts and sorbents in the fundamental steps of adsorption, reaction, and desorption. The group frequently collaborates with theoretical groups as well as surface science groups to complement our impact-driven approach.
