Bella Bose received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Madras University, Madras, India in 1973, the M.E. degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 1975, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science and engineering from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, in 1979 and 1980, respectively.
Since 1980, he has been with Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, where he is a professor in the School of EECS. He has also served as the associate director of academic affairs, interim school head, and senior associate head of EECS. His current research interests include error control codes, parallel processing, and computer networks.
Bose is a Fellow of both ACM and IEEE.
