Biography

Zed Atlee has been acknowledged as a major contributor to the use of x-rays through improved instrumentation for crystal analysis and a rotating anode-tube for medical therapy, and a one-million-volt x-ray tube used by industry. His work was undertaken primarily with the General Electric X-ray Corporation in Chicago which he joined following his graduation and where he became Manager of the Tube Division in 1943. He is cited for helping to establish a leadership position for the USA in x-ray techniques, and he received an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from OSC in 1943. Dr. Atlee passed away several years ago.
