Biography

Tommy Ambrose came to OSU after completing BS and MS degrees at the University of Idaho. He was subsequently awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University Idaho, and has served there as an adjunct professor. He worked for Battelle from 1969 to 1990 in various capacities including director of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington, and director of the Seattle Research Center. He also served as a liaison officer for the Lawrence Livermore National laboratory. Ambrose is on the Board of Directors of the University of Idaho Foundation and has chaired the university's engineering advisory board. Ambrose has also served on boards at the University of Washington, Columbia Basin College, Northwest College, Pacific Science Center Foundation, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and Ohio Wesleyan University.
