Dr. Tod Laursen received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from OSU and his MS and PhD from Stanford University. Dr. Laursen serves as chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science in Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering, where he also has served as senior associate dean of education. Dr. Laursen is internationally recognized for his research in computational nonlinear solid mechanics and is editor-in-chief of Finite Elements in Analysis and Design. Dr. Laursen was previously elected to the College’s Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers in 1998.
