Biography
Dr. Tim Tong earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from OSU and his MS and PhD from University of California, Berkeley. In 2009, Dr. Tong became President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, leaving his nine-year post as dean of George Washington University’s School of Engineering & Applied Science.
As Dean, Dr. Tong was recognized as a gift ed and enthusiastic leader, boosting student enrollment, research funding, and donations to the School. He is a Fellow of both the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the International Thermal Conductivity Conference. Dr. Tong was inducted into the College’s Academy of Distinguished Engineers in 2001.
