Biography

Steve Stockton graduated from OSU in 1971 with a bachelor’s in civil engineering. After graduation, he served as a Naval officer aboard the USS Saginaw (LST-1188), retiring from the Navy Reserve in 1992 after serving more than 22 years. Stockton began his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Geotechnical Branch, Portland District in 1975, becoming branch chief before serving as chief of the Planning and Engineering Division.

In 1996, he moved to Washington, D.C. and served as chief of the Engineering Division, Civil Works Directorate, before moving to the South Pacific Division in San Francisco. For six months in 2004, he was assigned to the Gulf Region Division in Iraq as director of business management. Since 2005, he has served as the deputy director of civil works at the headquarters of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Washington, D.C. He has received many awards, including the Secretary of the Army's Exceptional Civilian Service Award.
