Biography

Sarah Ruth Jones, a 2009 civil engineering graduate of Oregon State University, credits the College of Engineering with helping her discover her path as an engineer. Through programs like MECOP — the Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program — she gained real‑world experience that launched her career. Her two six‑month internships with Clark County Public Works and WHPacific were especially formative, giving her early exposure to industry and the opportunity to develop a specialization in ADA compliance and site accessibility, which has remained a central focus of her work.

After graduating, Jones continued her involvement with CECOP as a member representative and mentor, committed to giving future engineers the same opportunities that shaped her own career. She has served on the program’s board in multiple roles.

Today, Jones manages the Oregon Civil Engineering group in the Land Development Department at David Evans and Associates, leading projects and mentoring emerging engineers.
