Biography
Bob Proctor graduated from OSC with BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 1947 and 1949. Upon graduation, he entered employment with Standard Oil (now Chevron) at the Richmond refinery as a design engineer. During his 36 years at Chevron, Bob held increasing management responsibility ranging from Refiner early in his career to Vice President of Chevron USA, where he was in charge of Chevron' s nine domestic refineries. He held the vice president position from 1976 until his retirement in 1984.
He established the Proctor-Chevron scholarship fund for undergraduate students in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. The College of Engineering recognized him as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1995.
