Biography

Rich Kaplan earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Oregon State University in 1985. Currently, he is the director of Microsoft's infrastructure strategy group within Windows Marketing and Developer Relations. His group is responsible for driving information technology business requirements into Microsoft's platform products. Rich joined Microsoft as a senior architectural engineer in 1990. Prior to coming to Microsoft, Rich worked for Hewlett-Packard for ten years, focusing on network design and analysis. He is a member of the Computer Science Advisory Board.
