Biography

Michael Van Buskirk earned his bachelor's of electrical and computer engineering in 1977, and has been active in the non-volatile memory business for 24 years. He is currently vice president of engineering for Advanced Micro Devices' Memory Group, where he is responsible for overall technology strategy and future product architecture. He directs product design and development in six design centers worldwide, producing all Flash products for both AMD and Fujitsu.

Prior to joining AMD in 1986, Van Buskirk was director of engineering for E2 custom integrated circuits at PMC-Sierra (formerly Sierra Semiconductor Corp) and began his career at Intel Corp. His industrial career has resulted in several publications and 39 U.S. patents in the field of non-volatile memory.
