Biography

Larry Chalfan obtained his BS and MS degrees from OSU in 1965 and 1968, respectively. He served in the US Army, rising to the rank of Captain before beginning a successful 30-year career in the electronics industry. He began with Motorola rising to product manager for linear integrated circuits within four years, before founding and managing Frontier Manufacturing. With OKI Semiconductor he held positions of vice president of engineering, executive vice president, and director of their Sunnyvale, California, operation. In 1989 he was the general manager responsible for the construction and start up of OKI's facility in Tualatin, Oregon, of which he later became president and CEO. He is a Member of Electrical and Computer Engineering's Industrial Advisory Board and the College Advisory Board. He received the College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award in 1996.
