Jay Compton : Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers - 1998

A McMinnville native, Jay Compton graduated from our Construction Engineering Management program in 1979 and followed his father into the construction industry, where at age 29, he became president of both the Salem Road and Driveway Company and the River Bend Sand and Gravel Company, also based in Salem. He is currently serving as president-elect of the Oregon Columbia Chapter of the Associated General Contractors and as the Chairman of the Asphalt Pavers Committee of the National AGC. Prior to this he served as president of the Asphalt Paving Association of Oregon. Mr. Compton is an outstanding business leader in Oregon and friend and representative of our CEM program.
