Biography

Dean Papé graduated in 1943 with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and went on to become a highly successful businessman and community leader. He founded and chaired the Papé Group, Inc., which included a number of successful companies, and served as chairman of the board for Mt. Bachelor, Inc. He was an active participant on the board of trustees of the OSU Foundation and served as the organization's president from 1983-85. In 1985, Papé received the "Volunteer of the Year" award from OSU. He also served on the boards of the Oregon Health Sciences University Foundation, the Oregon Symphony Association, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and the High Desert Museum. He was also a founding member of the New York based World Business Council and was director of the Oregon Business Council. Mr Papé passed away in 1996.
