Biography

David Zier joined NVIDIA in 2009 as a senior CPU architect, where his early work helped define the company’s first CPU products. In 2018, he transitioned into artificial intelligence, leading the creation of NVIDIA’s Deep Learning System Software team. Today, Zier serves as senior system software manager, overseeing software solutions that improve the performance and deployment of machine learning and deep learning models. A hallmark achievement of his organization is the Triton Inference Server, which provides platform-agnostic AI inference and is used by leading organizations worldwide. An advocate for agile development and clean programming practices, Zier fosters adaptable, high-performing teams.

A committed supporter of Oregon State University’s College of Engineering, Zier advises curriculum development and helps facilitate access to NVIDIA hardware and support. He credits Oregon State’s education, mentorship, and networking opportunities as foundational to his career success.
