Biography

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from IIT, Bombay, Ajit Rode went on to earn a master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from OSU. He also obtained a MBA from the University of Portland. Rode worked in engineering and management positions at Tektronix for five years and then co-founded TriQuint Semiconductor, where he was vice president of the Foundry and ASIC Division.

Seven years later, he returned to Tektronix as general manager of their Test and Measurement Business Unit. After five years, Rode moved to the Bay Area, where he was a general manager at Novellus Systems, VP of MCPA Products at Spectrian, the senior VP and general manager of Semiconductor Systems Inc. for FSI International, the CEO at Intevac, and the CEO at Symmorphix.

Over the course of his career, he developed over 100 key products in wireless communications, data storage, wafer processing equipment, and test and measurement arenas. He also mentored dozen of start-ups and small businesses in the Silicon Valley through SCORE, a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs.
