About

Biography

Dr. Scott Bozeman’s expertise is in metallurgy, specifically investigating advanced structural materials and manufacturing techniques for clean energy systems. Scott has been at Oregon State University since 2019 and received his PhD in Materials Science from Oregon State in 2024. During his graduate studies, Scott developed additively manufactured stainless steel claddings on carbon steel for nuclear and offshore energy systems and was named as a Rising Star in Materials Science and Engineering in 2023. After defending his PhD, Scott became a Research Associate housed in the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME), who collaborates with researchers in the schools of Nuclear Science and Engineering (NSE) and Civil and Construction Engineering (CCE). In this role, Scott has continued his research on additively manufactured materials, and broadened his expertise to fields including thermal and irradiation-induced phase transformations, x-ray diffraction analysis, computational alloy design, and molten salt corrosion. Scott has authored 10+ peer-reviewed journal publications and is also an Instructor for several materials and mechanics courses in MIME and CCE.
