Salvador Aceves received master's degrees from OSU in mechanical engineering and physics in 1986 and 1988, respectively, and his doctorate in mechanical engineering in 1990. He is currently a research engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he has gained a reputation as a leader in the development of energy efficient technologies in the transportation sector, emphasizing reduced impact on energy sources and the environment. His contributions in energy storage for vehicular use of hydrogen and homogenous charge combustion ignition (HCCI) are widely recognized and advancing the industry. Aceves has published numerous articles in both the popular press and in technical journals. In 2000, he was elected a Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engineering.
