After graduating from OSU, Roy Rogers went to the Technical University of Delft as a Fulbright scholar. Later he received a MSEE from Stanford and worked for Sylvania Electronic Defense Laboratory. Subsequently he served as Director of the Advanced Technical Division at Quantum Science Corporation.

Afterwards he worked at the First San Francisco Financial Corporation before joining the venture capital firm, Hambrecht & Quist. There he served in several high-level roles including Director of Institutional Services, Director of Research, Senior Vice President, and Managing Partner. Mr. Rogers would also go on to become General Partner at two other venture capital funds.
