Matt Boyd holds a master’s in bioresource engineering from OSU, where he developed the leading stream temperature analysis model, HeatSource. He then worked at the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, where he led the DEQ’s efforts in establishing temperature standards for Oregon streams. Boyd established his own company, Watershed Sciences, which specializes in applied remote sensing for natural resources monitoring and evaluation. The company owns and operates the highest resolution LiDAR (light detection and ranging) system in the world and provides services for thermal infrared, multi-spectral, and hyper-spectral data acquisition for applications in hydrology, open channel hydraulic and water quality modeling, habitat analysis and restoration, forestry analysis, and wetland and riparian investigations.
