Biography

Chih Wang is honored for his contributions leading to the establishment of the Department of Nuclear Engineering and the Radiation Center at Oregon State University. Because of the foundation prepared by his research in nuclear technology in the late 1950s and his leadership through the 1960s, 70s, and early 80s, the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Center provide valuable educational and irradiation services to customers around the world.

Dr. Wang is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, The American Institute of Chemists, and the American Nuclear Society, and he was instrumental in opening communications on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy between the US and the People's Republic of China.
