About the Center for Diversity & Inclusion

Our Mission

The COE’s Center for Diversity & Inclusion at Oregon State University is committed to increasing the number of womxn and underrepresented students pursuing and completing degrees and careers in engineering, while fostering their advancement, success, and sense of community on campus. We create activities and initiatives that provide students with:

  • An environment that promotes and prioritizes their achievement and well-being
  • Opportunities to become involved on campus (via student organizations, jobs, research, etc.)
  • Information about careers and companies
  • Opportunities to engage with faculty, alumni, and friends

The Center for Diversity & Inclusion also works and advocates for an inclusive and equitable environment at the COE, by working with other programs and units in the college to ensure adequate policies and practices are implemented.

Our Vision

The COE’s Center for Diversity & Inclusion will be recognized by the college as an engaged, collaborative, and socially just community that is known for its work to empower students from diverse backgrounds through community and academic engagement.

We Create a Better Future

The College of Engineering's 2020-2025 Strategic Plan, Create a Better Future, includes a community goal of inclusive excellence. The Center for Diversity & Inclusion aligns with this goal and joins the college in creating a culture that embraces diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Our Inclusive Excellence
