Biography

Will Braynen leads the Software Engineering Track in the MSCS program.

As a mobile software engineer, Braynen has worked in industries from retail to telecom, shipping mobile apps to millions of end users for companies like Nike, Citibank, and SiriusXM. Outside the consumer-software space, Braynen has also worked on software for healthcare, the energy sector, commercial agriculture, bioinformatics (gene-set analysis), and banking.

Braynen started his software-engineering career as a software developer at Bloomberg (2000-2001). From there he left to work on video streaming for a N.Y.C. startup. He then continued on to other software projects in both academia (building agent-based models at the Group for Logic and Formal Semantics at SUNY Stony Brook and at Columbia University's Center for Computational Biology & Bioinformatics) and in industry (for example, utilizing mobile devices in commercial agriculture).

Braynen holds certificates from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (in entrepreneurship from Stanford Ignite, 2014) and the Santa Fe Institute (Complex Systems Summer School, 2007).
