Sahid is the recruitment & diversity initiatives coordinator for the College of Engineering. Her main duties involve coordinating and developing new recruiting efforts for the college, as well as supporting our diverse student population. As the co-advisor for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), she works to ensure a diverse and inclusive environment for all our students. Prior to joining the College of Engineering at Oregon State, Sahid served as the assistant director of outreach for the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she had the opportunity to develop many K-12 engineering programs for underrepresented minority students in Illinois.
