Jaehoon Jung is an assistant professor (senior research) of Geomatics in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University. Prior to joining Oregon State, he worked in the Department of Photogrammetry at the University of Bonn to study robotics and machine learning. He received his BS and PhD degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Yonsei University. His teaching interests include machine learning for geospatial applications and webGIS. His current research focuses on Scan-to-BIM, lidar data classification, and 3D solar energy estimation. His recent projects include: extraction and classification of pavement marking program, rapid development of intelligent, built environment geo-databases using ai and data-driven models, and water surface modeling, refraction, and reflectance correction for topobathy lidar system.
