September 2017

From the Dean

Earlier this month, Oregon State University announced a record-breaking $441 million in research grants and contracts for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017. Bringing in $55.6 million of that total, the College of Engineering continues to make great strides toward our strategic goals related to research.

Industry partners and agencies such as the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and U.S. Department of Defense consistently recognize and award our incredibly productive community of researchers, positioning us for tremendous growth and innovation throughout the 2017-2018 academic year and beyond.

As we welcome the newest class of Oregon State University engineering students to campus and celebrate our position as the 11th largest engineering program in the nation, I’d like to share with you the College of Engineering’s fiscal year 2017 Research Funding Highlights.

I’d also like to congratulate those who received 2017 University Day Awards and 2017 College of Engineering Celebrate Excellence Awards.

These are only a sample of the achievements in the College of Engineering, with much more happening on campus and around the globe as we work to collectively create a better future.

Go Beavs!
