From the Dean

In just a few weeks we'll be welcoming new and returning students for another school year. It's already turning out to be a record-breaking fall, with more than 1,000 first-year students joining our program – our largest freshman class to date. We also graduated a record number of students last year, and data over the last five years show that we continue to grant an increasing number of bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees.

By the numbers, we are big. Really big. Based on our undergraduate population, we are in the 95th percentile for size among national undergraduate engineering programs. We are fortunate to have 25 new faculty join us to help keep pace. These faculty come from excellent programs and bring incredible expertise to help us solve important societal problems and educate the next generation of engineering leaders. They join our existing faculty, who already make important contributions to our teaching and research mission. Our future 60,000-square-foot building will also help us keep pace with our growth, and we are excited that SRG Partnership has been selected to design this interdisciplinary educational and research facility.

We look forward to a productive school year and will keep you posted on our ongoing successes!
