The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track academic faculty position within the area of large-scale optimization at the rank of Assistant Professor.
This position is expected to establish a research program exploring the scientific fundamentals of computational optimization and machine learning methods. Some demonstrated experience in using machine learning methods to advance optimization models in specific domains is preferred. Areas of application interest include, but are not limited to:
- Autonomous systems
- Healthcare systems
- Logistics systems
- Power systems
- Transportation systems
An established and thriving track record of federal and industry funding and partnerships in the school will support the position to grow an enterprise around their areas of research.
We are especially interested in candidates who have an interest in maximizing research impact through commercialization, taking advantage of OSU’s resources available through the OSU Advanced Technologies and Manufacturing Institute (ATAMI) and the OSU Advantage Accelerator.
