2016 Graduate Research Expo abstracts.

Oregon State Engineering Research at a Glance

Scott Ashford As a premier institution of higher education, Oregon State University must be on the forefront of new ideas, research, and innovation. We must continually strive to push ourselves in new ways that challenge our thinking and past practices.

The College of Engineering is leading the way in this challenge. This Engineering Graduate Research Expo is one way we demonstrate the contribution our graduate students make toward advancing the frontiers of knowledge. Our graduate students will share their work through poster presentations — a common platform researchers use to present their work at academic conferences — with industry partners, alumni, the media, prospective students, their peers, other academic institutions and more. The public will have the opportunity to interact directly with individual students, ask questions, and exchange ideas. Our students will benefit from learning to explain why their complex research matters and to build their professional networks.

I invite you to join me at this event to see firsthand how our diverse community of graduate students, working closely with faculty, is solving the world's greatest challenges. This event is free and open to the public.
