From pre-engineering to graduate level, MIME students utilize MPRL facilities and expertise for completing course assignments, capstone design projects, research activities, and more. Such efforts may involve a variety of manufacturing techniques including welding, machining, CNC machining, rapid prototyping, and sheet metal work.
Many of OSU's multidisciplinary student clubs also make use of the MPRL in completing projects. For example, our championship Baja SAE and Global Formula Racing vehicles and human-powered and robotic vehicles built for regional and international competitions all include components fashioned in this lab.
The practical and applied skills acquired in the MPRL comprise an invaluable part of our students’ engineering education and put them at a distinct advantage when moving from school into their professional workplaces.
