Description:

The Social Justice Education Initiative for faculty and staff at Oregon State University are workshops designed to support your social justice and equity journey. In Session Two of the platform curriculum, we build on the learning from Session One and explore some important structures and tools that help you apply equity and social justice principles to the work that you do. The phrase "more curiosity, less judgement" is instrumental to social justice and equity work and is a guiding principle for this interactive workshop.  No preparation is needed beyond this principle.  Once you participate in Session Two, you will have completed the Social Justice Education Initiative platform curriculum. 

To participate, you must be OSU faculty, staff, or graduate student AND have completed Social Justice Education Initiative - Session 1.

It is requested that you attend Sessions 1 and 2 on different days.

  • Morning workshops:  Breakfast is provided at 7:30 and the workshop begins promptly at 8:00.  
  • Mid-day workshops: Workshops begin promptly at 10, lunch is provided at noon, workshop concludes at 3. 
  • Afternoon workshops:  Lunch is provided at 12:30 and the workshop begins promptly at 1:00 pm.

Disability Access Services Training (online, ongoing, and available anytime)

Towards the goal of meeting our legal obligations and institutional aspirations, we offer a concise (30 minute) self-paced online training, designed to address many of the questions faculty have asked, as well as all of our responsibilities. The training can be completed at any time, though it should be completed as close to the beginning of the term as possible.

Beaver Barcamp

Teaching Triads

Join colleagues and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) in this spring’s professional learning community (PLC). Teaching Triads is designed to engage trios of faculty around structured teaching observations and intellectual coaching. Through reciprocal observations, feedback, and dialogue participants collaboratively address questions, needs, and opportunities in the enhancement of teaching. The work is supportive, formative, voluntary and NOT evaluative. This hyflex PLC runs April 13 – June 15 and has live sessions on Thursdays at 12:30. This PLC is also offered to off-site teachers. Spring into the Celebration of Teaching

This is a fun event that fosters reflection, enhances the exchange of ideas, and inspires our collective commitment to our students and the art of teaching. Progressive family-style lunch and rotating conversations are hallmarks of this celebration.
