FLIR Systems, the world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of thermal imaging infrared cameras is seeking two Manufacturing Engineering interns for Summer 2016 (June - September).

1.       Electrical Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Main responsibilities will include process development/documentation, production support, and new product development for all levels of our airborne gimbal products.  Sample projects and responsibilities include:

-          Design and implement automated tests for electromechanical sub-assemblies

-          Assess and improve PCBA tests for increased coverage and debug

-          Convert proprietary C application from WinXP to Win7.

-          Analyze and improve PCBA electrical failure analysis process and equipment

-          Assist in the launch of new products
Preferred qualifications:  Junior or Senior level Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering student.  Labview experience a plus.

2.       Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Main responsibilities will include process development/documentation, production support, and new product development for all levels of our airborne gimbal products.  Sample projects and responsibilities include:

-          Design and conduct DOEs to improve process yields

-          Procure and implement mechanically assisted lifting equipment for improved ergonomics

-          Design and implement manufacturing jigs and fixtures

-          Identify yield detractors and implement process improvements to eliminate them
Preferred qualifications:  Junior or Senior level Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering student with manufacturing process interest.   Solidworks experience a plus.
