Software Firmware Engineer-1204865


As a Firmware Engineer you will become a strong contributor on a development team responsible for advancing inkjet printing technology for Hewlett-Packard.


Assist with the coordination of design, development, testing, and defect repair of embedded microprocessor firmware components controlling HP inkjet printers

Assist with the scoping of firmware tasks and resource requirements.

Assist with investigations and interactions with other multi-discipline teams that are providing other components to the same product.

Work with other engineers and contract manufacturers on the integration, evaluation, and fine tuning of the product and ensure smooth transition to manufacturing.

Executes established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code; identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues.

Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on firmware design and development.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of embedded real-time operating systems and embedded firmware development processes.
Demonstrated strong programming skills in C and C++.
Analytic ability in order to research technical issues and generate creative/innovative solutions.
Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills in a large, diverse environment.
Strong initiative.
Software/firmware development and debugging skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to be flexible.
Fluency in written and spoken English. Experience or understanding of firmware design tools and languages.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
