Gale,
Can we put this announcement in our weekly letter?
In addition, can I send it out to the pre and pro cs
students?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Jennifer,

Attached is the job description I was talking about over the phone. I will also be contacting the interns you listed in your previous email to Susan individually since you recommended them. The only ones we can't take are the MECOP Interns because they are technically set to go out with our member companies.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

Dan,
Per my conversation with you today, please contact the last 4-students listed below and ask for their resume. Then interview them and identify any that look promising, and then Gary and I will meet with you and the top candidates.

Thank you,
Susan

I had a few names for you, but many have found their
own work. How about another MECOP student? David
Snelling, Kevin Rich, and Kayla Looney will be here all
this next year before going back out on their internships.

Some other non-MECOP students are Ryan Jones,
jonesry at onid.orst.edu<mailto:jonesry at onid.orst.edu>, Thomas Albertine,
albertit at onid.orst.edu<mailto:albertit at onid.orst.edu>, Sam Quinn, quinnsa at onid.orst.edu<mailto:quinnsa at onid.orst.edu>,
Amy Wyman, wymana at onid.orst.edu<mailto:wymana at onid.orst.edu>.

The students above just finished their freshman year, but
they are good and likely to get into pro-school. Let me
know if none of them work out.

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Do you still have those names of potential candidates for the MECOP IT Assistant position?

We screened the AIS student applicants from the College of Business and did not find anyone with the necessary programming qualifications. Our focus has changed back to CS now, because the programming takes higher priority than the accounting in the position.

The position details are in my email below.

Thank you,

Susan

Hi Jennifer,

This is follow-up to a couple of voicemails I left for you recently. The MECOP office is recruiting to hire an IT Assistant and asks that you assist us in identifying potential candidates for the position. Paul Paulson helped with this in the past, since we wanted a CS student for the job. We hope to fill the position before school starts. If you are unavailable in that timeframe, then please refer us to someone else in the CS Department if possible.

Please send me the names and contact information of any students you believe would be a good fit for this position. Freshmen are preferable because we would value a long-term commitment, plus it takes considerable time for training on MECOP's IT system. However, well-qualified sophomores could be considered as well.

The work hours available can be up to half-time depending on available work and the student's availability. The person who has been in the position over the last 3-1/2 years is Steven Reid, you may know him, he graduated in CS this year. Steven worked directly under MECOP's IT Specialist, Dan Ryan, as will the new hire. A description of the position is at this web link: M:\Website - IT\IT Procedures Manual\ITAssistantSetup.docx<file:///\\Server-pc\m\Website%20-%20IT\IT%20Procedures%20Manual\ITAssistantSetup.docx>. If you have questions about the position please call Dan at 541-286-4498.

Thank you Jennifer, and I hope you are having a good summer.

Susan
